Growing and Shrinking Patterns

Description

Learn choreography for a fun spy dance that uses growing and shrinking patterns with dance artist Joanna.

Materials

• A moderate amount of personal space.

Activity Notes

• Students will learn a growing pattern dance and then how to shrink the pattern down. Rehearse and perform with your favourite spy/sneaking music, such as “The Pink Panther” theme or “Mission Impossible.”

Artist Notes

• Use your own movements to grow your patterns.
• Students are encouraged to play with the elements of dance to create a dynamic piece. Adding different levels and speeds will change the feeling of the piece and create intrigue and excitement.
