Embodying Your Character
Mindfulness, Embodiment, and Drama > Drama
Description
In this lesson, students will learn about energy centers that help embody a variety of characters for performance.
Activity Notes
- Embodying a character means that you use your body to become that person. How you use your hands, your body, and your voice gives your audience a lot of information.
- Watch the video to see how different energy centers impact how your characters stand, move, and interact with other characters.
Artist Notes
- Have fun and try to feel putting energy in each of the five centers. Don’t be embarrassed to practice in front of a mirror to get a real sense of what it looks like to embody different characters whether for theatre or for classroom presentations.
